    Default Red-breasted Nuthatch

Went to Morton WR with Grace Scalzo and Gail Bisson. Gail was visiting NY this weekend, with her husband. What a pleasure to meet her. Always great to put a face to a name. We had a great morning with a bigger variety of birds then I have seen there in a long while. Most times one might see 1 RB Nuthatch among the feeder visitors , but today they were there in greater numbers then I can ever remember. A fine morning with 2 very fine people.

Very nice image of a bird that I love.
It has a bit more contrast than I would want, but that is simply a matter of personal preference.
    Very nice!

Looks good Joe, and liking the composition with foliage, bird is very sharp and well detailed, open beak adds life to the shot as well, liking also the light hitting the glossy leaves .

Nice one, Joe. I love these little nuthatches, and you caught this one in a nice pose with open beak. I also like the bg and foliage. Well done.

BTW, I applaud your taking the matter of the endorsements into your own hands. Although I can understand that BPN has bills to pay and this may be one way of doing so, the ads have annoyed me when they appear on my images, and I wasn't sure what to do about it. When they started, I searched for a forum where the subject was being discussed, but to my surprise I found none.

Thanks Bill. I had to do something as I got no satisfaction from the site owners/operators. It just didn't sit right with me. They could have at least given the members the courtesy of asking permission.

Nice Joe, sharp, nice comp, I think a bit more NR on the BG would look nice.
Nice company you had with you!

What a neat perch/plant to capture this fellow on. I love the pose and animation of the bird.
Was the perch set up? Great light quality too btw. There is something a bit odd about the
bottom of the left hand side of the perch....There is a perfect little rectangular form that does
not look quite right to me, like some kind of pp glitch?

Very minimal PP , so I'm not sure what you see. No additions or subtractions done so I don't know what it could be. I don't see it here. Just cropped and sharpened the image.

Thanks for the feedback Joe. I'm looking at the image on a much larger monitor now and can
see that the leaf directly below the tail (that is in shadow), is just connected the way it is, and the
rectangular shape to the right of the leaf, is just the background showing through. It's fine as is
for sure. Regardless, the perch is quite unique for the species imo, and it remains a loverly image sir.

I like the pose, open beak and composition. I would clone the areas where the small branches were cut off. Well done Joe!

Hi Joe, nicely nestled in the fork of the perch, and I like how the nuthatch is looking up the line of the perch.

Sounds like you guys had fun, especially meeting up with Gail and Grace.
