    I like the frontal pose, beautiful bg and water on the feet. Several stops down might have gotten more DOF for the legs, but it's tack sharp where it matters. I might have wished for just a bit of head turn away to get his bill clear.

    Nice exposure and sharp head. For me, this is a little too in your face. I would have preferred the bird's beak not intersect part of it's body. This image gives you a great close up look of this bird for ID. That white stripe down it's chest is interesting.

    Interesting pose. Great background. Most has been said about the bill position, but if it were mine, I would clean up the bill to remove the sand.

    On this page they will enable us to be so good that we can show our photos to NG. NG's definition of an image is "keep it real". So I feel that it is wrong to remove the sand at the beak.

    Geir, The thumbnail does not do this image justice. Glad I opened it up....nice details where it matters, Cute pose, great eye contact. I rather like the bits of sand on his beak.
