    Default Bonaparte's Gull

Had about a week photographing these little gulls until they moved on. Lots of fun trying to capture these fast flying birds. They were zipping around feeding on flying insects. Captured this one with a different pose.

Thanks as always for looking and your input. Appreciated.

Yes it is an interesting pose David, gives the impression that its banking and weaving as it pursues the insects. Nice sharp image, good exposure for the whites and well portrayed against the blue water.

Perfect BG for this guy. I agree that you caught him in a great pose, love the fanned tail. I like the trailing water drops. TFS

Awesome pose and great light. Well done with the exposure. There seems to be a bit of subject blur to the face area, but your SS is certainly fast enough.

Lovely light and great exposure. Interesting pose, which makes this a little different. Wouldn't have minded the near wing up just a bit, but it's tough to tell these guys to how to pose. Love the head against the far wing.

Beautiful light! Good exposure work and nice job tracking an eratic flyer with that much focal length.
You achieved a very nice flight pose. I like the shadow play on the wings. Considerations could be
just a bit more selective USM on the head to target what Daniel pointed out regarding motion blur,
and maybe just a light pass of NR on the background. Regardless, it's a great flight shot of this species.

    David,
Beautiful image with the nice shading. I love the pose. Perhaps one of the top gull images I recall seeing. Well done.
