    Default After the Storm

This image was taken on the beach at Little Estero Lagoon after a mild storm in January of last year. It was a grab shot with the shortest focal length I had with me at the time, and I never intended to do anything with it until I was inspired by an image that Judy Howle posted to this forum. I'll take a little more time with setup and composition the next time I have a similar opportunity. For this image, I used NIK Color Efex Tonal Contrast, NIK Presharpening, Pixel Bender, and Topaz Adjust Heavy Pop Grunge. The image quality/sharpness suffered a bit during the upload, as the image is so busy I had to drop down to a JPEG quality of 6 to get the file size down to within the 256k maximum.

This is quite amazing with all the color and textures -- natural and added, both. That primary diagonal is very effective. It's quite incredible that it happened and you deserve credit for capturing it. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Mike, isn't it amazing what a storm will bring up! I like the different filters you used on this and it is very interesting to look at. Nicely done

This must be amazing to look out at with a quality of 100! I totally love the chaos of the natural objects, their colors, shapes, & textures. Your choice and use of filters produced a great image. For some reason when I saw the curve of barnacles on the upper right edge it made me think of teeth and dentures ! Would also make a great jigsaw puzzle!

Mike, I love this! The filtering adds some interest. I might evict the straight dark thing on the left side if it were mine-the rest of the "stuff" seems so cohesive. Great eye for this!

Wonderful work, Mike! I just love the complexity and color and details. For some reason it made me think of the poem... "The Walrus and The Carpenter"... those poor oysters.

Wonderful image. I love the sharpness, how each object seems to pop out of the image. Beautiful light and colors. Excellent processing. I'm amazed that all these objects work together. Good job.
