Hi Jim, lovely soft light, and the finch certainly seems to be posing just for you. I really like the pastel shade of red on the finch, and you have captured the feather detail so well. The curved perch works well going through the bottom of the frame, and your BG works well too.

Thats an exquisite capture of this House Finch Jim. Very sharp, lovely lighting, great pose, good perch, all portrayed against that complimentry BG. Love it Jim! (Wish our house finch (sparrows) were half as attractive).

Nice light, beauty perch and nice pose, Jim. Love the neutral background and a little colour at the top is nice.

It's all working in this image. The light is sweet, nice pose, and nice BG.

Ditto all the positive comments above in spades. I'd love to see a similar image with the bird holding its head a bit more erect as the posted pose looks a bit awkward and unnatural.

Another great capture with this house finch. Exposure and detail is spot on and I love the subtle rose colors on the chest. Subject is lit perfectly. Well done.

The light is impeccable! The perch is delicate and has nice features.
Great portrait of this handsome little finch. I like the head angle....looks like the bird is curious to me...beautiful image sir.
