Hi Dan, I feel your low perspective works well in this, and you have captured a good pose and HA. I do like the light, and colours in the BG. Well exposed and sharp, and if it wasnt for leaving space below for the virtual legs, I would have taken a bit off the bottom. I can see a version with a bit off the top, and maybe moving the bird a bit more to the left in the frame.

Yum this is sweet. Love the intimate view of the bird here.
And frankly, I think it's unique. I just don't see many quality images
of this species in non-breeding plumage in a terrestial environment
like this. Particularly enjoy the plumage details....wet parts of the lower
chest/belly....Nice head angle/catchlight, and just enough of the tail
showing to look right. I like Stuart's suggestions for another version,
but this is lovely as is too.

    Very nice shot.
I like the low POV and the light.
Whites look great as well. What a great opportunity you had and you made the most of it,
I would be tempted to give the 2 long blades of grass a haircut!!

    Dan:

Excellent shooting angle, sharp, good head position. I would try a version without the brown/tall twig on far right. The thinner green blade closer to the body is less of an issue for me.

    Well done.

    Cheers
