    Default Super close-up

Not only is this OOTB but probably Off The Wall as well! This is a super close-up of the tongue of a King Penguin. I was astonished at the huge barbs on the tongue and the roof of the mouth. All good for pushing those slippery little fish down the hatch.

When I am in an OTW (off the wall) mood I turn to Flaming Pear's flexify. It can be a ton of fun for sheer quirkiness. So first it was a twist on flexify and then a turn in Pixel Bender. Honestly, I only have one glass of white wine before dinner .

Nancy, you're right. OOTB and OTW The tongue is really weird but it makes sense. I like the flexify effect - my favorite part of the image are the yellow areas on the right and left edges. I wonder what it would look like if you made the image more square?

This is awesome, I never would have guessed a penguin tongue unless you mentioned it. I am setting up a new computer and will soon be able to use pixel bender. My old machine was just way too slow and pathetic to even try using it.

This is wild. I'm glad you disclosed what it is, because I might never have guessed. Only one glass of wine before you processed this. I can believe that, but what about before you took the photo?

Love the abstract quality, Nancy! Very cool combo of effects and colors. Would not have guessed what it was.

Weird. I tried to figure out what it was, but failed. I tried increasing saturation of most of the image and liked how details came out. Definitely an OOTB image.

Nancy, Can you say OOYM (Out Of Your Mind !!) Awesome creativity. I love the tongue and the texture on it. I might take a sliver off the left if it were mine.

It definitely is OTW! I knew what it was as soon as I saw it; the left side was the giveaway. Very creative - I love it!

Here is the original image. I used the Canon 400 DO. The bird was grooming itself. These birds were incredibly tame and you could get very close to them. Thank you all for indulging my OOTB, OTW, and OOYM tendencies!
