The is one of the chicks from the same nest as my previous post. Actually it didn't fledge for a few days after this image was taken - few patches of down still visible.

    EOS 5, EF100-300 F5.6L, ISO 200, 1/200sec F11, natural light with fill flash, Hide/tower, tripod.

I like the bird. The exposure looks good and he looks sharp to me. I think the tree bark could be toned down a bit. TFS

Hi John, I like how the kestrel is viewing out from his nest. I would still like to see you moving your tower to the right, so the kestrel is posed against the BG. Just a thought.

Love the "hello world" expression on this youngster, John. Techs look great. I can see what Stu is suggesting re. moving the tower to the right, but I also like the nice view of the nest cavity. Keep them coming!

Thanks for the comments Stuart - unfortunately I was restricted to where i could place the tower at this location, so this was a bit of a compromise.

Very nice follow up image to go along with your previous post.
I think it's great as is, bird and cavity show well, but I could also envision
a looser composition, and as you were using a zoom, I wonder if you have
some wider views of the same scene?
