    Default Great crested Grebe

Got the floating hide on the water as it was such a lovely day on Wednesday - alas the water still too cold for comfort.

She was off the nest having a bit of R&R when I sneaked around the corner of the island, but even though the Canadas, moorhens, coots and ducks never gave me a second glance she 'clocked me' straight away and came over to inspect - decided I was just some rubbish (something with which I've no doubt my missus would agree ) and then she went back on the nest.

Wouldn't it be great to be there to witness hatching - fat chance of getting the timing right to that degree - but we can dream.

Love the low angle, the lighting and colors and those water droplets on the feathers. What I miss though is some eye contact.

It is allowed to take photos of birds on nest? Sorry to ask this. Very nice photo indeed.

    Best!

I agree 100% with Vincent's comment! Great light and POV but missing eye contact...

Also I understand Milan's question because I'm also surprised as a new member that photos of birds at nest are permitted on BPN...

    Cheers...

Outstanding lighting, color , low angle and detail. As mentioned the eye contact is the only missing element.. Thanks for sharing .
