A spectacular capture Arash of a most unusual flight pose. I love the fully out-stretched wings illuminated by the late afternoon sun. My only wish is for a better HA, but I would be more than happy to have this image. Well done!

Hey John, I think the head angle is actually good but unlike other raptors owls have a facial disk that is almost flat. So the only way to get a great view of the eye is when the owl flies towards you but of course they never dive at a photographer so I am not sure if it is possible. I got some frames of the owl coming at me but he wasn't diving...will post them later.

This is a serious contender for contests Arash. Just amazing flight pose, details and light. I understand there were about 20 photographers waiting for this Barn Owl yesterday. Wish I had been one of them.

Too good! I might be tempted to lighten and warm up the birds left wing tip to match the rest.

Hi Ari, very well timed to capture this, and just love how you have managed to capture the full wingspread. The owl pops so well from the darker BG. Congrats on a fine image.

    Hi Don,
No bait, Just waiting and waiting for this guy to come and hunt. It was very far at the beginning but then it came close just before the light went down :)

I like the light to dark from wing tip to wing tip, like it's diving into the dark. Very nice.

Another super shot to add to your collection! Love the detail, action pose and illumination. I dream to be in a position like this with an owl.

Great capture of the diving action. Wish the shot was mine. I agree with Alan that it would be nice to warm up colour on the left wing. Also, I would desaturate the orange grass near the left wing tip to match the rest of the background.

Great job capturing this moment. Exposed well and lots of detail in the owls wings. The dark BG sets the owl off nicely. Way cool Arash.
