    Default Coot Running on water

a wasted weekend in Dallas because of the weekend. but that gave me a chance to work on pending images for a while.

    Shot with a 7D and 500+ 1.4 handheld.

    1/5000, 5.6, ISO 500, manual exposure.

Some canvas added in front of the bird. cropped slightly from behind and bottom.

Well captured Amol with the wings fully out stretched. Lovely sharp image, excellent exposure and the water splashes add impact. The piece of water-weed in it's bill tells a story - nest building material I guess.

Brilliant image. Love the action and sharpness/good composition, and low shooting angle.
Vegetation in the bill adds some great interest.

The thumbnail doesn't do this image justice.
Great low POV and I love the running pose and outstretched wings.
Great splash as well. Good IQ and tack sharp as well.
    Congrats on a fine image,
    Gail

Hi Amol, one of the best coot images Ive seen in a while. Excellent exposure, and love the 'running' pose across the water - coots favourite past time. The coot is sharp, and we have a good view of the wings. I do like your low angle of capture.
