Default Bohemian Waxwing enjoying its Berry

The sun came out finally in our area after many days of stale sky/lighting. I was hoping to capture some Bohemian Waxwings on an open perch tossing berries in the air during my 1-hour lunch break. Out of about 30 shots or so I took, most of them were not keepers as the head angles were off and the too many distracting elements in the fore/background. The image above was the only photo that made the cut. I only had to crop in a bit and clean out some OOF twigs entering from the right side.

Very nice shot, Raymond. The red berries with the snow add a lot.

Lovely image, Raymond. I really like your composition and the colors, it has a painterly feel to it. Love the snow.

Well seen and well captured - snow has the right exposure so it feels just right. Berries not blown.
    Very nicely done.

Excellent image. The composition is complex, yet well balanced.
The exposure work is right on. I really like that the mountain ash
still has some leaves on it. Subject/prey look great :)

Love the wintery feel here Raymond. The red berries and this colorful bird contrast so nicely against the snow. And you timed it just right. I also like that your dof covers everything nicely.

Hi Raymond, love the setting here, together with the angle of the waxwing. Great view of the berry in the beak, and the snow on the perch adds interest.

Wish I could have an hour's lunch.
