Just messing about before the rain game in, however the guys have been doing a good job on keeping the numbers up. Could tone down the heather in the BKG, but happy to leave as is.

I'm okay with the BG, I am a little distracted by the OOF area in the LLC. I love the look on his face, is that a little drool hanging from his mouth or is that part of his beak??? TFS

    Steve:
Lovely rich tones in the bird, good shooting angle, nice upper BG. Sharp. In a perfect world, would prefer the OOF area in LLC look more like the RLC.

    Cheers

Great looking bird, great detail and like the flower heads in general, but agree the oof area on the left caches my eye somewhat....perhaps crop tighter as below ?

    Steve,

I like the background as it is. Nice colors in the bird.

    Interesting crop by Phil.

You could try to blur the lower right corner too, to match the lower left. Kind of like a blur vignette that cradles the grouse.

I really like the original post, in fact I would prefer to see more of those beautiful buds. Fine job.

Hi Steve, I really like your selective focus here in the original post making the very sharp Grouse pop out of the image. Excellent exposure and love the soft, multi-toned BG.

Love it as is, the bird seems relaxed, killer habitat image. I would only crop a tad on top if this one was mine.
