    Default Short-eared Owl

I took this on a really dark day in Ladner, British Columbia. There wasn't enough light for BIF, so I decided to connect my new Pixel wireless remote release and set-up on a perch while I ate my lunch. I was sitting about 65M away when this Short-eared Owl came to the perch. The camera was 15M from the perch.

    D300s, F/7.1, 1/200s, ISO 640
    300mm AFS F/4 with a 14TCEII Teleconverter
    Pixel Remote release
    AF: Auto-area AF mode

    Thanks for the comments.

    Wes

Man o man, Wes, is that ever lovely! Gorgeous light and some healthy and enviable details. I love the perch, the foliage, the owl's pose, the background color...very well done. Great strategy for shooting, also. It paid off. What was for lunch, anything good?
