Another image from Ft Myers beach from Thanksgiving week. First time with a red knot, and he didn't disappoint. I think (in hindsight, of course) that a bit faster ss would have been nice.

    Shooting info:
    Nikon D800 | 500 f/4 VR | 1.4x | on skimmer pad
    1/1600" | f/7.1 | ISO 400

Comments, critiques, and suggestions are always welcomed and appreciated.

    Miguel:

Nice bathing action with flying water, low angle, soft BG.

I would be tempted to try a version wtih about 25% of the free space below the bird trimmed off, personal taste.

    Cheers

Thanks for the input Randy. Would you consider adding that space back to the top or keeping it as is?

I looked at your larger version. You captured wonderful feather detail as well as those great flying drops of water. They really add the action to the bathing bird! I love the smooth water just at the base of the bird but agree with Randy that the OOF foreground water could be cropped some. I don't think I would change the top.

Nice low POV and terrific layered BG.
I would take about 15% off the bottom and add the same on the top but that is personal preference.
I find the image a bit flat and would add a couple of points of blacks to the neutrals in selective color to make it pop a bit.
    Great shot,
    Gail

Very nice bathing action, and another beautiful soft bg from Little Estero (I assume). Somehow I missed the knots when I was there. Some good comments above re. crop and selective black.

I also think a bit more contrast would look nice, I really like the creamy water.

Great capture of this bird bathing. I always like to try to get unique shots while birds bath and you did well. Nice detail and exposed well. A bit more contrast would help but nice none the less.
