While I was photographing birds at the local feeding station this Buck came up the road and allowed me to take his picture. I hope you enjoy.

Nice regal pose in good light you got here Jeff.
I am not too fond of how tight it is at the bottom - we usually refer to leaving room for the 'virtual feet' because the human mind perceives that there is still feet below the ridge and wants enough space for them.
I would consider a portrait crop as well, make it a vertical?
Hi Jeff - Nice sharpness and head on look. For me this cries out for a vertical comp, too much space to the rhs. Morkel makes good points about the virtual feet and the tightness at the bottom. Did you apply any blur to the road or was there a ridge between you and the buck? Finally, it looks like there may be some artifacts in the llc just above the line?

Thanks all. The Buck was slightly down the hill so the feet were cut off. The artifacts are grass.
I agree with a vertical crop. Maybe you can darken the background a little, so the buck stands more out? Otherwise great pose!
Hi Jeff,
nice pose of the buck but with the cut off feet not ideal, would go for vertical if IQ allows.
Toning down the BG , could help the buck to stand out more .
I would tone down some of the highlights on the buck, plus it would be better next to post your images with an embedded color profile, to judge the colors better.

Nice looking buck. Like the head on pose and that you can see all four legs. I also like the look of the bare trees in the BG. Wouldn't mind it a little darker overall but like most comments on a critique, its personal preference. As for the road, you could always select it, change the color, and say it was water.
