    I was lucky to watch these two birds doing the courtship display and mating. I was happy to get several shots, but happier to be able just to witness the behavior.

    I wish for a that the male head angle was better... but what can you do? maybe next time.

    Canon 40D, 500mm f4, tripod, wimberly head
    1/1250s f/7.1 at 500.0mm iso 200

    Nice wing pose on the male with good, subtle detail. Nice sharpness on the eyes as well. I like the overall soft, detailed look. There appears to be some light blurring just under the female's breast between to the two water plants. You mentioned the head angle but I don't think he was concerned with that at the time :)

    Its always exciting to get a shot of the Stilts mating Excellent shot Raul I agree alittle more eye contact would of been nice.

    Great behavioral photo with perfect exposure Raul. Personally I don't see the male's head angle as a nit, since the female's head angle is good.
