I have enjoyed the conversations generated by the recent images posted trying alternative viewpoints

After listening to what was said on my image and Gail's, when back and recropped mine much closer, concentrating on the important elements in the image. I think it is more successful.

Let me know what you think, if you would be so kind. I have included the original for comparison purposes.

Either way, this one works for me. I doubt the tighter crop will change anyone's opinions, but I'll be curious to see what folks have to say?

    Randy,
Definitely better! Instead of missing the eye so much, it leaves the viewer to imagine the rest.
The crop really makes a difference. Who would have thunk it?

It's already missing the eye(s), might as well crop tighter, making the fabulous details of the dorsal side of the bird more dramatic.

I like this much better with the tighter crop. Accentuates the beautiful feather detail and color. Maybe dosnt even need the bill showing. Fun exploring different stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Well done, Randy. I'm delighted to see that people are enjoying the tighter crop. It really does look great, and I'm very glad to stand corrected...I must learn to never assume...

Thanks folks so much for taking the time to comment and share your thoughts on the redo. I normally don't start a new thread off an existing one, but felt that would give the best chance to get your input. I thought about the comments on the original, and tried to focus on the best points of the image.

    Cheers

I think the tighter crop works better as we can see more of the details in the wings and back.
    Well done.

I like it tighter as well. Nice to see some thinking outside the norm
