These Amish men and boys were taking a break from building a schoolhouse. Sam, the man with his arms spread, is the bishop for this area. He was calling for the ice cream to be served.

A good sized crop; used one of my sky photos for the sky; TS> Buz Sim; other basic adjustments in Elements 10.

I appreciate feedback--positive and negative. I want to know what works and what doesn't work.

    Many thanks.

This all works! The repetition of the hats pulls the composition all together. The clean bright colors are perfect for the "simple, uncluttered" life of the Amish. I am unsure about all the sky above. I think it has too much gray and I would be tempted to crop most of the gray away.

Wow, this works -- really works, Anita. It's colorful, dynamic, and joyous. I had no idea it involved ice cream, but that group of boys hurrying toward the carriage exudes anticipation. Topaz Simplify was a great choice. Even though I like your sky a lot and think it's perfect for the image, I'd crop some off the top. However, it's just marvelous the way it is.

P.S. Nancy posted her comment as I was writing mine. Our reasons for cropping might be different. I don't mind the gray at all. I just thought less sky would be better in terms of composition.

The hats, suspenders, high-water pants , all make a wonderfully complementary statement and tie these folks together. Love the timeless quality of this, Anita. With that in mind, I might be a little tempted to try and clone out the red and white cooler attached to the left boys arm. Beautiful processing effect!!

Thanks! Ah yes, I forgot about the cooler. Thanks for noticing.

Anita, I love the anticipation that is implicit in the image and the processing is perfect. I agree on a crop from the top and eliminating the "modern" cooler. Nicely done.

Hi Anita, Marvelous! Has a great family/community feeling to it, I fell like I'm wanting to run into the scene and catch up with the others....................agree on the crop for the top, a bit too much sky with a somewhat distracting hue. Just my take.

Again--thank you for comments and suggestions. I've removed the offending cooler and cropped some from the top--both excellent suggestions.
