    Default Griffon Vulture in nvironment

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Hi there

Walking in the Montado this afternoon I came across this Griffon on the ground.
He was on the wrong side of the sun at first but I was eventually able to reposition and get that lightbulb behind me.
It's a time of life and death here at the moment with hundreds of lambs being born in the last month; some do not make it.
Two tiny lambs had died here yesterday, within minutes of their birth.
In nature this guy is then the winner.

I have choosen this frame from many as it shows the beauty of the bird and the Montado.
The frame is full frame. I have applied NR to the BG only, pulled down curve, added some saturation to taste and sharpened with smart sharpen after resizing the
    tiff.

Nice habitat photo, the bird is sharp and the colors are nice. There is something going on in the background at the top of the photo ( it also might be a glitch in my internet connection)

Lovely light and color in this shot and I do like the natural environment, great looking bird, confess to finding the framing a bit odd and distracting, was wondering what the distortion was at first.

The vulture pops quite nicely from the environment. Great habitat depicted. The comp looks good, but I'm wondering if you meant to crop inside what looks like added canvas top and left...

I like your full frame composition Richard including some of the environment. The vulture is very sharp, well exposed and ideally positioned to avoid any distracting BG. I also note the anomly in the upper and left side of image.

    Very nice shot.
Great pose, I really like the habitat, nice light, and details.
There is something going on with the background.
    Well done.

    Hi all

Intesresting anomoly; thank you laptop and windows 7 haha, somehow with its mind of its own it added some bits!
I have cropped them off but will need to go back to the raw sometime to get the size back.
I have issues in PS with the computer control pad and need to get a mouse.

    Glad you like the vulture!
