What a lovely silhouette with the bill tipped up! Good job getting a single crane, something that can be hard to do. The golden water is beautiful. I like the circle-like ripple radiating out where the crane must have just dipped his bill. Sounds like you had a great time at Bosque...hard not to!

Thanks, Nancy. I had a great time and yes, getting a single bird isn't easy

Nice memory of Bosque, the classic silhouette. Love the colors reflected in the water - part of the magic of the place...

I love silhouettes and this is a very nice one for the reasons already mentioned. I love the color of the water!

Cheryl,
this is beautiful, I love the gold color and the position of the bird. Never been to Bosque, hope to get there some day. I'm jealous,
Nice work.

Very nicely done, Cheryl. I like that you composed it without feeling the entire reflection of the crane needed to be there. It's a wonderful pose, especially with the crane being silhouetted. Your composition puts the ripple in an important position, so it's nice that so much of the ripple is shown. I think this could also be composed to a very nice vertical image. The shallow depth of field is great for an image like this.

Cheryl...Great silhouette and I love the circles in the water. I like how you blurred out the fg and the bg water but left the crane nicely sharp. Great work!

Cheryl: It sounds like you had a full schedule at Bosque. Lovely, simple, strong silhouette. The gold of the water beautifully sets off the silhouetted bird. The ripples, the circle, the grasses all add to the scene. I'm finding the top third of the bg distracting. I think I might lighten up the dark areas and add more blur to that upper third. Just my thought. I'm looking forward to more of your images.
