Loving the composition with the Gum Nuts as a perch John, great clean backdrop to show these beauties off nicely { sadly I've still yet to see this species } I also like getting a profile and dorsal view, my only thought was a little more dof to get the foremost Gum Nut in focus would be a tad better.....still an excellent presentation

Thanks for the comments phil - yes this species was high on my want-list for a decade or more until I found a habitat 12 months ago on private property only 15 min drive from my home that supported large flocks of Zebra, Red browed and Doubeled-barred finches.

Hi John, your vertical comp was the only way to go to have these two perched above each other. I havent seen this species before, both are well exposed and sharp, and stand out nicely against the smooth BG.

A sweet species, love the view of their backs and perch. Good job getting two of them in one frame, I enjoyed this image.

Fantastic perch, BG, comp!! Colours look great too. Contrast is a bit strong IMO, but all else looks A-1.

Very appealing image, with great perch. Nice to get good angles on both birds. I agree that vertical is the way to go, but to my eye a little more room on the left would help -- maybe add slightly both left and top to maintain the aspect ratio. Nicely done in any event.

John, this is stunning. Not much more I can add except to say that I wish it were mine!

This is very nice, I like the light and details, nice perch and BG. I agree with Dan that is it too contrasty as presented, reducing contrast will improve it quite a bit

Remarkable how sharp both birds are! I don't think I could do that at f/16, and you did it at f/6.3. Kudos!

Another great shot of this species. Well done on getting both birds sharp, not that easy. Well exposed and perch and BG are very nice. Ya, maybe back off on the contrast a little. Nice work.

I was pretty fortunate Diane that both birds were almost on the same plane. The lower bird is not as sharp but a little selective sharpening helped here.
