Managed to sneak right up to this one and is full frame, sadly shooting into a drab plain sky was not desirable ...but one takes what one can get in fleeting moments. These birds sure have to be one of our more gaudy colored birds in Oz.

    Canon 7D + 500 f4 + 1.4 x TC....700mm, f6.3, ISO 20, 1/250, flash fired, minimal processing with slight sharpen, selective brighten, no crop.

Beautiful colors and the bg isn't all that bad. Would have loved a slight head turn as well.

Nice one Phil - you have done very well with this nervy species! I can never get close to them! Another vote for a slight head turn,
    Cheers Greg

A splendid image of the Mulga parrot Phil - yes the magic head-turn would have really lifted the composition here but they don't always cooperate!

Very nice Phil! Great colors and a nicely balanced composition. Like you said, the bg isn't ideal, but it's still nice and clean. I do wish for a better head angle, but this one works nicely as well.
