    Default Snowy Owl

    Attached Images Attached Images

One more image of the snowy owl that I previously posted. The bird was flying into a slight head wind
while eyeing up the live mouse that I offered. Image made winter 2011/2012, in Minnesota.
    SonyA300, Sigma50/500, iso800 (was wrong about iso400 on last one, actually iso800) , 1/1600, f9,
cropped, removed several dust sensor spots, USM. (I also slightly toned down the owl's right eye as
per the suggestion in the last post).
    Comments and critiques welcome.
    Regards,
    Shawn Zierman.

Cool Shawn. Just commented last night on your last post that I wish the left wing was in the down position so we could see the striking feather pattern . You must have grinned because you had this up your sleeve. Great shot and Exposed well. Only wish on this one would be the left eye not being shaded. Great job.

Shawn, another great shot! The exposure is dead on and the color is in the eyes is just awesome!

The pose and wing position is very nice.
The eye colors look odd, they should not be different.
It seems a bit "crisped" to me, just a bit oversharpened or a big crop.

Good exposure and the pose is even better than the previous picture. The eye contact is what makes this image special. With one eye in the shade I think that you handled the situation perfectly. This is a great image. Thanks for sharing.

What a superb image Shawn - I love the flight posture here and Oh, that magic head turn! The light pastel BG also works so well here - well done!
