Amazed you got so close to this flightly litle bird Greg, very hard to get within 50 or more feet.

Beautiful shot , very sharp, great light and I think the perfect profile

Beautiful bird and shot. Very well exposed and very sharp. The red eye ring pops nicely and the pose is great. I think the OF foreground would look good with the sand on the left cloned over it so it looked uniform. If you are ok with changing images that much.
Also your images posted are a bit small. You can go up to 1024 on the horizontal and 800 on the vertical. Nice work.

This bird is really cool. I like the low angle, the bird looks exposed well and sharp and the BG looks good. I am a little distracted by the OOF band in the FG and if it were mine I think I would remove it. Real nice image!

Beautiful shorebird, first time I see such a sharp, detailed portrait of it. Perfect BG and angle. Brilliant.

    First...gorgeous bird!
Great low angle, but still high enough to see the feet and a bit of sharply focused foreground...perfect imo.
Right on light angle, with a perfect body and head angle.....solid.
I bet you only go 800 on the long side because you post on other forums, and it is a pain in the butt to
    size differently for different forums....no?

Hi Greg, great low perspective, and overall, you have exposed the bird nicely. You have also brought out the feather detail very well, and I like how he is posed against the smoother sandy BG.

Another vote for posting wider - we dont charge extra for using more space.

Nice and close with great low angle and detail. I feel just a little more room would be good too...just a little

Thanks for the feedback guys! Shawn, you are spot on - I actually sized this for another forum a while back and forgot to go back to the original...
Here is another version at 1024px,
    Cheers Greg

Hi greg, one of my favourite little waders well captured. The bird's side-on presentation here allowed sharp focus from tail to bill and I love the low perspective. Did this one have eggs near-by?
