Shot this guy in NJ a few months ago. Got a few of him bringing fish home but loved the wing and tail position of this one. Canon EOS IDMK4, 600mm, ISO 640, f/7.1, SS 1/3200.

Nice capture and I like the wing and tail position too. Exposure looks good and looks sharp too. You can post your pics at a larger size so we can see more detail. 1024 max on the horizontal and 800 on the vertical. Good job.

    Nick:

THe wings and tail do display well, I like the basic comp, could prob. trim a sliver off the top because of his angle of flight.

THe head and bill get lost slightly against the wing. Difficult to avoid in this type of pose.

Some of the whites on the wings look a bit hot on my work monitor, but it tends to display a bit hot, so grain of salt there.

    Cheers

With the light coming from the right this bird shines. Not enough for it to look hot to me but enough to show off those beautiful feathers. Nice hunting pose.

Great light quality, and I like the bit of land context on the bottom of the frame.
Looks like the bird is just coming off the surface of the water, as I can see water droplets
under the bird. Agree with Randy about some of the highlights on the bird looking blown out.

Wonderful capture. Great job of pulling out the detail and colors in this one. I like the inclusion of the green at the bottom. Only wish for a larger (1024 px) image to fully enjoy it :)

Beautiful pose and details, Nick. I really like the fanned out tail. I agree on a couple spots being a tad hot.
