    Allen:

Your bird is well exposed, like the interesting perch. For my taste, although the colors are very nice, the BG is a bit too bright and uneven, esp. the lower right area, and detracts from the bird.

The grip displayed it good too!

    Cheers

Neat perch, and I like how the nuthatch is clutching it. Good details and flash work. Perhaps a little large in the frame. I like the BG colours, but not crazy about the faint circle patterns.

Beautiful little nuthatch, well exposed. Tiny bit of head turn might have helped, but nice as is. Ditto Daniel's comments about the BG - love the colors but circular flare is a bit distracting.

Nicely curved perch. Brilliant warm colors in the bg. You must have been quite close
for f10 to not cover the secondaries and primaries of the forewing....though a slightly
better body angle might have squeezed the entire bird within the plane of focus....
Some selective NR to the bg, which is a reasonable idea, would also lessen the impact
    of the circular highlights.

Hi Allen, interesting looking perch - really smooth, but the nuthatch seems to be coping holding on. I like the various colours, sharp where it counts, and agree, smoothing out the BG wont harm the image.

Very nice...lots of details. You had to stop down a lot so that was a good call.
