I really liked the light on this guy as it was still very early in the morning in the Pilanesberg National Park. Just a bird on a stick, but with lovely colours.

The light quality is brilliant. The pilo-erection gives the bird some added plumage interest.
I particularly like the bit of seperation between the tail and the perch, as well as the space
between the legs and perch. High quality portrait sir.

    Stuart:

This image is a good example of why the name of my little photo business is "Light Reveals Photography"
THe light really turns this from a nicely composed, technically well done image to a really good one!

Sharp with nice depth and definition from the light angle. Interesting perch, good colors too.

    Congrats

Amazing light; it really brings out the feather detail when fluffing up. Fine job.

This is also a common introduced (pest) bird here in Melbourne, Stuart - this is a lovely shot - super detail and light,
    Cheers Greg

Very nice Stuart. The light is awesome here and makes the subject really stand out. Techs are perfect and the bird is full of detail. Nice! Oh, sweet BG too.

Had no idea, they are there in Africa. I grew up with these birds all around.

Awesome light, composition, details and BG. Beautiful portrait.
