Captured this in the spring while shooting YHBBs. Landed close to me and gave me a literal 3 seconds and he was off. I like the two frames I got.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input, Appreciated.

Hi David, great pose, and I like how you have placed him in the frame. You have nailed the exposure on the darks, and sharp where it counts. I like the smooth BG, and would only tone down the tip of the perch - looks a touch bright.

I like the pose. Very nice exposure and sharp. I agree about toning down the tip of perch just a bit.

    David:

Good reactions and a nice result, with good pose, well framed, and yes to toning down the perch tip.

    Cheers

    Very nice David.
I think I would prefer more of a vertical crop.
    Exposure is terrific as well,

    Sharp and nice comp.
I think a bit more DOF to get the whole bird sharp including the tail would have been nice.

Very nice image of this species. Background control is excellent.
Subject isolation is good. Exposure is excellent. A slight bit of a
head turn towards you would have been nice as well. Good suggestion
to give the perch end a slight toning down...

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Didn't catch the perch tip being blown when I processed it. That's what I like about posting on this site, makes you see things that you may not know or may have overlooked.

A 3 second bit of magic David, nice clean comp, must say I didn't pick up on the hot stick end, but a tad more dof would of been nice...but in 3 seconds that's expecting an awful lot

Excellent image with very nice exposure.Nice pose, details, perch and BG.
Would crop on right side a bit more to give vertical look.

Overall this is very nice. The exposure is spot on, the BG nice and creamy, and the thin perch works well (but I'm not a fan of the broken-off tip). I agree a slimmer vertical would work, but the subject would need to be slightly smaller in the frame if you were to crop some off the right (IMO). Although the HA is OK, I too would like it turned a couple of degrees more towards us. That is asking alot for a three second opportunity though, and you did very well with that.

    Great shot!
I really like the pose, wonderful background, nice details, and exposed very well.
I agree on toning down the tip of the perch.
    Well done.
