This is a male and was photographed in a friend's yard where they have several feeding boards.

Hi Peter, I can see why this species is called a red head barbet - and striking colours throughout too. I like the inquisitive stare, clean BG, and a different angle of capture than the norm. I feel the subject is too large in the frame, and would try and reduce some more NR on the BG.

Thank you Stuart. Here is a version with a somewhat smaller subject and more NR although I think I'll have to try a different method of NR.

wow Peter, what a gorgeous bird!! I agree with Stuart and like your repost very much. very nice detail on head and chest and lovely background. would love it if the feet were a little sharper.

I like the size of the bird in the repost. Your bkgd is now blotchy-looking. I agree that a different method of NR would be a good idea. Wonderful colors on the barbet!
