I think I already know the comments, but thought I would post this anyway. I liked the natural setting and the reality of the situation. I was taken by his eye and soft-looking black head feathers, and feet :)

Good head angle, but that is about it. Delete and save hard drive space (unless you like it).

HI Terry it does convey reality in a big way !!!! This is what we usually see gong after little birds !!!! Razor sharp and well exposed but doesn't do much for me.

Love the detail in the head and eye but unfortunately the rest of the image over powers it and it gets lost in the frame.

Ok, I hang my head in shame. Here's a more straight-forward image. I have had a lot of fun with the small local birds, though.

That's pretty funny Artie! To me, this captures the frustration of bird photography nicely. And it makes you appreciate those rare opportunities when the stars are in alignment and you get a clean look at a beautiful bird.

Hi Doug and Terry, I did not mean my post to be funny (but looking back I can see the humor in it) and certainly not to be insulting. I would have expounded but it seemed that Terry already knew that serious problems existed. IAC, o-o-f elements in front of the subject are generally image wreckers and this one would lead the league in o-o-f foreground elements.

Terry: any ideas on why the second image is so much noisier than the first?

The second shot is great, Terry. Needs some noise redux though....

    Hi Artie
The higher noise is shot taken at ISO 800 1/640s and a bit more of a crop. My eye is not so sensitive to noise as perhaps it should be. The other shot was taken at ISO 400
    Thanks all for your comments.
