Alan, this is a beautiful image that would make a lovely Christmas card. There is great detail & the pine bough adds a lot to the image because of the snow & the pine cones. Also, a very lovely BG. TFS.

    Alan:

Lovely as Andrew mentioned, and def. Christmas card material. Nice techs. A long way to travel for a black capped chickadee

Absolutely gorgeous image Alan. You really know how to get these just right. I was going to say it would make an even better calendar photo, but unless the calendar was tall and thin, the vertical might be hard to position. It would make a terrific magazine cover too.

I like the seasonal feel to this one. The black capped is posed and exposed nicely, though I would prefer
to see a bit of tail and the bird's left foot being covered in snow, while the right foot is so visible, is not
optimal imo. The perch is great. A consideration at the time of capture would have been to back off from the set up slightly so you would not have cut the cones like you did....seems a bit of an incomplet thought if you know what I mean. Did you throw snow on the perch? It looks oddly clumped....

Very nice Alan. I would love this as a Christmas card, feel free to send me one ;). Beautiful image with great details in the white - good use of fill. Nice catchlight as well.
