    Default Southern Grey Shrike (Steppe Shrike)

    Sun directly behind though cloudy.
    Has a weird call for sure and I dont see them often.
    Slightly smaller than the Great Grey, this one was calling away early today.
    Location : Vale Cegonha Ourique Portugal's Alentejo.
    Adjust whites with levels, NR and sharpen.
    Manual exposure, ISO 640 1/400 HH F8
    AF Point expansion

    Hi Richard,
    What a pretty little bird. I like the fluffed up pose.
    I like the vertical presentation.
    I see a fair bit of noise on the belly. I think you can also dodge the eye area a bit to bring out a bit more detail,

    Beautiful bird and perch, and I like the high-key treatment. You had a tough exposure situation here, and I suspect you could have added even more light to the original capture.
