Default Spotted Hyena on the run

This guy was running in circles waiting for a lion to abandon his kill. At the Ngorongoro. The light was far from ideal and the subject was back lit, this was the best i could do. 1/800, ISO 400, f/6.3
    C & C welcome.

Hi Sanjeev, I like the trotting/boing of the subject and the almost canter of the legs.

I think you did well in both techs & your processing to get what you have, backlit images are never easy at the best of times. I think you could double process the image, one for the BKG and the other for the subject and then combine, very simple an an ideal route for Smart Objects. I would look at dropping the exposure/mid tones for the BKG just to darken things down, so that they look less bright then using a mask bring the subject back through.

    Hi Sanjeev,
Agree with Steve's observations and suggestions. I would personally prefer a bit more eye contact.

Hi Sanjeev - as always, good suggestions and observations from Steve and Roman. I too wish for a bit more of a turn or angle toward you.

    TFS,
    Rachel
