    Default Polar bear waiting

With the cracking images Sid has been providing for us recently, I thought I would throw in one myself.

Having swum over to investigate us and the vessel, this gorgeous Polar bear just then sat down and waited, as if someone was going to throw a stick or some tasty morsel of food. The original had a slight blueness to it, so I have cleaned the look & feel a bit on the whites, as I can't remember if there was a filter dropped in, or not? Wished I had had the 1Dx for these, hey ho...

Steve - I really like the different textures to this one - the large chunks of ice, the smaller pieces mixed with the water, the smooth water and finally the ice that the bear is sitting on. The bear of course looks great too. Well done!

    Steve,

The title on this should be"O my, what now!" He looks looks like he is on an ice flow and heading out to sea. I love it. Well captured expression captured here. I like the slight shadows cast from the body on to the ice and also the very slighly visible warm sun rays on the left side of the body. The chunky ice in the background gives out a nice habitat without overpowering the image. You can even see the coat is wet and perhaps he has just pulled himself onto the ice. Lot's of possible captions on this one. Very well seen and captured.

Great shot Steve. Lovely detail and crisp image. The head angle and stare make it special.

Very nice Steve! Good idea pulling back on the blues too. I really like the textures and depth to the image.

Great eye contact and detail in this soaking wet bear and surrounding ice. I especially like the detail and exposure in the FG ice.

Increasing the brightness might add more pop to the bear's fur. The fur looks a little flat IMO.

    Hi Steve,
would like to echo Jamie`s comment.
I would like to see a bit more blue in the water, just a tad.

The relaxed pose of the bear gives the expression , that this bear was comfortable to be close to a big ? ship though.

What a nice shot Steve. Just has a nice soft (quiet) look and feel. Detail looks good and you captured well the weak attempt of the sun to warm the cold.
