Well I was happy to capture this moment the conditions locally were terrible and I was using a higher ISO then I would normally use with my camera in order to get a decent shutter speed for capturing action shots. This image is sharp but noisy to me this is one of those images that captures the moment and out trumps its faults and the viewer can clearly see the action captured. It amazes me how hard these two Peregrines were working together to get a meal as they missed on several occasions. They would then land to rest up a bit and go back at it as after about an hour of trying this Juvenile was successful at getting this Dowitcher and you can see this Peregrine is grabbing the beak of the Dowitcher and readying to break the neck of its prey. Tremendous moment captured, sad but realistic. The grittiness seems to fit. I like he off centered comp. Tech issues noted, but the story comes through.
A shot that I would love to get.Having watched peregrines for several years in towns near me I have witnessed several kills but never caught them with a camera. For me the slight faults you have mentioned are outweighed by the action captured. I will persevere and one day may replicate a shot like this.
Nice capture. Love the bite pose and the feet sticking out on the dowitcher. I have many falcon action shots that are not perfect but are captured. Well done.
