Hi all, first post here from an Aussie...
This is a common Australian honeyeater with an extensive range through much of the mainland. Loud conspicuous call as the name suggests. It is feeding on an inland flowering shrub known as eremophila.
    D800, 300 2.8, 1.7TC, tripod, blind, perch setup. f8, 1/800, ISO200.
    Thanks, Greg.

    Sensational first post Greg !

Loving this none Greg, wonderful composition with the Eremophila, particularly with the interaction between bird and flower. The light is excellent and liking the glossy sheen on the leaves showing, liking the overall composition with the branch entering the frame from the bottom corner, smooth as silk backdrop too. I really cant see any room for improvement, and would go so far as to say this could very well be the best image of the " Singing Honeyeater " I have yet to see....top shelf stuff !

Just been viewing your Smugmug site.....very impressed and I've not visited the You Yangs yet, looks like I should

    Greg:

A big welcome to BPN. A great place to learn and grow as a nature photographer. Obviously a very fine shot, a well executed set up, with nice perch, background, interaction with flower, exposure, all good!

The feathers on the back look just slightly oversharpened, and in a perfect world, would prefer the perch on the right to not end so close to the edge of the frame, but minor points about a fine image.

    Look forward to more!

    Cheers

    Hi Greag,
A stunning image that ticks all the boxes:
    Superb IQ
    Great light
    Lovely colors
Great perch ( do you have a sliver more canvas on the right?)
    Good action from the bird.
    Congrats on a fine image,
    Gail

Nice. Good detail in the bird and cool capture. Good IQ and nice BG. Think I would either include the entire perch if possible, or crop it tighter on the right.

Hi Greg, a big welcome to BPN, and hope you have participating and sharing with others. Great IQ here, and love the angled 'perch'. Great to see the honeyeater peeling away the flower, and another vote for more room on the right.

Nice capture Greg! The bird is nicely exposed and sharp! Killer perch and background. However, I would love to see a bit more canvas to the left, top, and right side, while maintaining the "rule of third."
