    Default Conowingo Bald Eagle

Another from my recent visit to Conowingo Dam in Maryland. This is about a 40% crop, the problem at Conowingo is that the eagles are pretty far away, but they are somewhat abundant. Shot with my Canon EOS !DMK4, 600mm +1.4TC, ISO 1000, F 7.1, SS 1250. I am debating if I like this one so all comments and opinions are welcome...

    Nick:

In general I am not a fan of the straight across wing position, but the fish dangling down converting this to a T helps. The colors in the background are nice.

To my eye, the bird could stand a bit more sharpening.

    Cheers

A tad soft, understandable at those kind of focal lengths, but still an awesome image....such majestic birds ! Maybe a bit of noise reduction to the sky backdrop would be nice....that sky is a wonderful backing for this but just needs a tad more smoothing I think.

Must say I'm envious of you people having this species ....beautiful creature indeed

Nick, you got nice BG and moment. The incoming angle is also very off. However, the bird does not look sharp in focus. Or it is a big crop perhaps.
