Nice perch, pose and background, Jim. He/she looks cute with this pose.

Another nice simple design Jim. Great techs. This one seems to say "vertical" to me.

Thanks Karl and Dan. This was originally shot as a vertical but I thought the perch dominated the image too much.

Agree on the vertical working a little better. I would keep both versions, but the perch is just outstanding and makes for quite a powerful image. Good call by Dan.

Definitely vertical! The color of the perch really compliments the BG nicely, well done.

Keep both, but I think too0 the vertical is a little better, I do like the perch prop you have used....I like earthy things. Bird is sharp and light is very good too, definitely a keeper Jim

Although the OP is very good the vertical is a much more powerful composition that I really love.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Looks like the vertical is the keeper.

One nice one after another, Jim.
I think something between the two would look nice.
A bit less perch but still the vertical feel.

Excellent set up, technically well carried out.
I prefer the vert. as well, though the OP is A-Okay imo.
A vert 8x10 would look great too. Perfect DOF!
