Default Logger Head Shrike- regurgitating food

    HI All,

Sorry for the longish absence. Was having PC problems so my last post was left half way.

This is from the same series. I stuck with this bird long enough to get some great action. (missed it each time that the bird took flight though). This was the closest I could ever get to this bird. Everything was perfect but for some harsh light on the whites. LR shows nothing blown but I know that the throat looks a bit hot.

The bird is regurgitating a half digested prey item. and I am glad that I got the whole action.

    Your thoughts please.

Hi Amol, first thing that comes to mind is... please post a larger res version. I want to see a BIGGER version. This is such a good image but I am having to peer to see the details... and I ain't old with pretty good eyesight .

Looks great and I'd maybe revist the perch and tone it down just a fraction.

    Amol:

I like the composition, action and colors. The small in frame subject is well placed . Yes to warmish whites on throat. I agree with Jamie about the stem of the perch, could be toned down a bit.

    Cheers

Hi Amol, great seeing the item in the throat, and I like how the shrike is perched high on the shrub. I do like the BG, and would also like to see this larger.

    Thanks Jamie and Randy.

On my monitor the posted image looks ok not too small.

I didnt touch any part of the image selectively, infact I only adjusted contrast and levels (preset-linear contrast) of the whole image.

I will try to tone it down and repost.

It must look small if everyone else thinks its a small size for the screens.

I do use the tutorial provided here to resize for BPN. Anything longer than 800 will not be accepted for upload by BPN.

    what am I missing here?

    Amol:

You can post 1024 w and 800 high, so this one can go bigger. It is currently 800 x 599. The way to do this is to do a repost on your own thread, just like you were replying, but hit the tab, go advanced, just to the right of the post quick reply button, and you will have the option to add an attachment. Post the resized image there, and we should see it in the thread.

    Cheers

Nice composition and a pretty, if nondescript, background. A fine bird! Make it bigger, yes yes yes!
