Hi Jim. I love these little guys and you have a real beauty here. Nice simple design and great techs and lighting. Did you have some suet stuffed down between the little cones?

I started with some sunflower seeds at the base of the perch. Then I would get rid of them and hide one in the perch. Eventually I wouldn't have any seeds and let them move around the perch which would lead to some good opportunities. Thanks for the comments and question Dan.

Loving the composition with the plant material, makes for a lovely perch, perfect profile and fine detail and background works nicely with the birds color I think.....I find the head looks just a tad dark, and maybe a simple tweak in overall brightness

Great portrait of this nuthatch, Jim. Wonderful perch and background. A refreshing change from seeing a nuthatch on a trunk or branch.

Man you sure are getting some nice stuff from your setup. This is no exception. Almost as nice as the chickadee shot. Great techs and love the BG. Keep em coming.

Hi Jim, I like this lots, and love the overall comp. Good DOF throughout, sharp, and the colours really stand out in this. Killer BG too. One of your better images of this species.

Lovely! The pose really highlights the upturned bill which I think is cute, as it the little perch.
