Default Red-tailed Hawk with Meadow Vole.

The Hawk lifted up and showed the poor little Vole when it was still alive, judging it form the light in the eye and the pasture (not limp).
I will include the enlarged head with the Vole.
    I hope it is OK.
No graphic details in this one.
    Thanks for looking.

Nice behavior shot! I definitely crop from the top, as the composition seems a bit awkward to me. The bird could use some sharpening as well, and although the background is cluttered, it is what it is.

    Karl:

This image would work well as part of the story telling about this hawk/vole encounter, but does have some issues as mentioned by Ryan. Colors/exposure are very good. The tightest crop that the IQ will allow would downplay the busy environment.

I think you spoiled me with the great perch in your previous posts!

    Cheers

Hi Karl, no problem showing the enlarged version. Even being on the ground, you have captured the hawk nicely in the open, and still with a good view of the catch. Im fine with the BG, but would still take off at least a third from the top. This angle shows the various colours of the hawk much better.

This is indeed a great capture of the hawk and vole. In addition to cropping down from the top, you could de-saturate the reds in the bkgd to reduce their impact.

I like the enlarged version as I find the original very busy. Great story telling image.

    Thank you all.
The strength of this combo of the two is the close up.
The first picture shows you the evironment where this guy/gal hunt.
However, the focal point of it is the prey preditor relationship in a dramatic way.
I thought that you guys will sense it and will focus on that.
Sorry guys, I should have just posted the close up instead.

The eye on that closeup is so very clear and sharp, kinda wish the Vole was a bit sharper though

Excellent image of prey and predator in it's environment.Great interaction captured.
