    This is another shot from last year. C&C always appreciated.

    Eric,

    So close the upper 2/3's of the frame are interesting and the colors are beautiful. The opportunity here is the dull and dark foreground that anchors the eye and holds it there. Remember the image has essentially three areas, foreground, subject and background. All three need to work together and when it happens a photograph emerges. In this case you should consider cropping from the bottom and the image will balance out. Regarding the rock, I would prefer it be evicted an easy clone tool adjustment - lets see what others say.

    Nice aperture setting, I like the f/9 and the whites seem in check - well done. In situations like this, given a subject with white feathers the photographer needs to set the exposure for the brightest areas (white) and you did - good exposure control,..
