    Default Kingfisher Dive

Only saw that Stu also recently posted a PK diving after I processed the image, but here is my take of a Pk taking off on a perch at Mankwe in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve...

Would have preferred some separation from the perch...

    Equipment: Canon 7D and 500mm F4 L lens
    Settings: 1/3200 at f/5.6 and ISO 800

Special pose Rudy, love the raised tail. I agee with perch separation. Good timing and sharpness.

Hi Rudi, The last time we bumped into each other was that freezing cold morning at Mankwe - the coldest Ive ever been there, but it was mostly the wind that morning.

Well timed on the take off, and an unusual pose with the raised tail. Well exposed and sharp, and the Mankwe BG's are getting as popular as Giants.

Nice to see your post again, Rudi. I like the moment captured with the specials pose and the impact of the movement. Nice clean BG and good perch. For some reason I'd like to see more from the perch. Well done.

Rudi - I agree that a bit more separation would have been ideal, but this is still a stellar image. From the composition to the exposure, well done!

I really like the raised tail.
Lack of separation from perch doesn't bother me at all.
The whites seem a bit grey/yellow to me. Not sure if it is the light or PP work?
    Very nice comp,
    Gail

Wow! The raised tail and the fanned wings really make this one.
