Since Lions are popular at the moment , went thru some images I captured last year ....

I like the '' mirror effect'' as the lionesses passed each other by on the way to the waterhole. This pride of 10 had just killed a Gemsbok not far from my camp .I heard the commotion as they killed just before sunrise ....was pleased when I got there to see them not to far from road..... would have liked the side lighting to be on other side ...but nothing I could do about it...

D2xs 600mm lens wimberely head and car bracket.

    1/250 @ f5.6 ISO 200 .... exp comp -1/3 matrix metering.

in hind sight shud have upped iso.....but was fairly new to wildlife photography:):)

minor PS work. small crop off top....

Gorgeous!! Love the backlighting here and the little dustclouds. The stare of the left one tops it of for me! Well done!!

Well done image. I like the juxtaposition of the lions and the color is very cool. The dust clouds at the feet a nice bonus.

The rim lighting, the color and the posture of the animals all are superb.

Excellent image, as noted above, Peter. The back lighting makes it very dramatic. I don't think the image would have the same impact if the light was coming from the other side.

I think the mirror effect and rim lighting make this an interesting photo. The stare of the left lion make it look like she's examining herself in a mirror.

Upped ISO and stopped down for more DOF. Nice image nonetheless.
