    From last winter. Comments and critique appreciated.

    300 mm with D3
    Some PP to increase contrast on a snowy day

    Beautiful bird. I like the HA, lighting is decent. Might pull back on the highlights a little more, or burn down the brightest ones a little bit. I feel the branch in the foreground is very distracting. If there was any way to avoid that, in the future I would try. Same goes for the branches to the upper right and left. They all just kind of get in the way, and in this case the foreground branch cut off a little bit of the owls tail.

    How awesome that you were able to find and photograph this owl. I wonder if there was anywhere you could have stood to take this picture where that one large limb would not have obstructed the owl.
