    Default King Penguins

I was on the same wonderful trip to South Georgia Island in the southern Atlantic that Artie was on this past month. The remoteness of the island and the abundant wildlife was almost unbelievable. You just did not know where to look first. Here is an image that I like as it is a kind of "before & after" look of the beautiful King Penguins. The 1st bird is clean and dapper and the 2nd one is disheveled and dirty.

    Canon 1D Mark IV, Canon 70-200 f2.8 L IS @ 185, 1/1600, f4.5, ISO 800, exp. comp +1/3.

    c & c most welcome.

very cool. I like the pose and good exp. since the focus was on the front penguin I would sharpen the other one more, something like thisName: King-Penguins-1941.jpg

Great capture Nancy! I agree with Arash that the bird on the left looks a bit soft. You were probably fairly close to the penguins and the DOF was a bit thin and the focus only got to the penguin on the right. May be try sharpening the left penguin a bit more.

Arash & Raymond, great advice on sharpening scruffy penguin 2. If I was cool, calm and collected I would have changed my f-stop for more DOF.

    Nancy,

Lovely duo, they look like a proud couple. Good low angle. I agree with extra sharpening on the left penguin.

Well seen, Nancy. The additional sharpening is just what was needed to make this pop.

Hi Nancy, well exposed on both penquins, and love the symmetrical poses. Good low angle, and Arash's sharpening looks good.

Excellent capture, Nacy. I live the pose of the second one and the way the two walk together like little people.

Fantastic Nancy. Love the contrast between the two despite their similar poses and proximity. Can't wait to see more from your trip.

Thank you all! The sheer number of penguins was absolutely amazing. And the do look like little people shuffling around .
