Here's a nice and simple image design. From a few weeks ago, but freshly processed this evening. It may be my favorite of the series

Canon 7D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/6.3, ISO 800 (histogram checked), natural light, handheld, minor bill clean-up via patch tool, and darkened the perch via burn tool. Slight crop to and left to help the composition.

Simple and beautiful in all ways. This is the one I really like from your recent series. I love what you've done with the perch!

Like it all - the coy look back and the colors/feather patterns of the bird are very interesting. The perch looks natural and unobtrusive and I like the black lines in the stone as the compliment the black markings in the bird. The visibility of the toes.

I think you are right about this being the best of the series. Perch is really special here that matches the color of the bird. Nice pose and head angle too. Very good one, Daniel.

I see why you like this one. Lovely in every way. How did you get him to pose to match the striations in the perch?

Beautiful shot! You always bring out the best of the 7D/100-400 combo...your skill with them is amazing. I really LOVE the perch in this shot. Sometimes a rock just does branch never can. ;)

Different perch this time. The pose is excellent and I like the perch. I liked all the pictures of the series, so it is hard to tell, Daniel.

Goregous feather detail, love the "earthy" details in the perch, and like how the brownish hue in the right corner anchors the image. I have been trying for these for some time...one of these days! Well done, and stunning image!

  19. Thanks Daniel Cadieux thanked for this post
