I feel as if I've been granted a special privilege any time I have a close encounter with an endangered species, especially these sweet little Piping Plovers. This one from Plum Island back in September.

Cool pose, sharp and clean and very nice detail in the bird. I am debating the junk on the sand in front of the bird as a distraction or environmental element... works either way for me.

    Lovely shot.
    Very peaceful and soothing.
I like the comp and the organic debris in front of the plover.
I might add a point of black in selective coloring to give it a bit more pop.

    Cute pose on this juvenile!
Agree with Gail on the debris.

I'm seeing a definite green cast. Try adding 10 points of Magenta in a Color Balance adjustment and see what you think.

Good call Mike. Sometimes I fail to see the green cast. Here's 7 points of magenta (10 seemed too much to my eye); and 2 points of black, for Gail. I might have gone further. Thanks to both of you for the suggestions.

Nice shot Bill - you've gotten some good comments already. Agree w/ Mike about the green cast. I think I might prefer the image w/out the debris, for a cleaner look, but it's lovely as is. Great detail in the feathers.

I like the sweetness in this classic pose. Repost is better IMO and I'd certainly leave the debris. Very nice image.

Nice photo. The pile of debris adds a lot.
