Late afternoon, Nikon D7000, Nikkor 600mm, f6.3, 1/2000 sec., iso 800, hand held (briefly). Wish I could have picked him up a few seconds earlier. C & C appreciated.

Well captured Gary against a very pleasing BG. A pity he didn't glance your way as he flew past..!!

    Hi Gary,
    Beautiful light and BG.
    Nice wing position as well.
I do miss having a bit of eye contact. Is this a big crop? I ask because the BG seems to have a ground glass texture to it. Maybe it just needs a bit more NR.

PS I see a couple of black spots on bottom of frame to the left of your sig. Minor issue but an easy fix

The wing position on this capture is terrific and you have a lovely BG which really works well with your owl. Yes you would probably have had a more powerful capture had you picked him up earlier and gotten him angled your way just a bit, but you can clearly see the eye in this frame and it's a keeper in my book.

Great wings down pose. Nice light on the subject and exposed well. Too bad he didnt look at you but the bright eye is clearly visible so I think it works well. Good job

I love the wing position! He/she looks very intent on the task at hand. (Good survival strategy, I'd bet.)

    The BG is just lovely!

Nice detail in the wing and I see just enough eye to work for me
